New electrical installations are needed whenever you extend your property, create a new room, or significantly refurbish an existing space. Whether it is a single-storey rear extension, a kitchen overhaul, a loft conversion, a home office, or a garage workshop, the electrical work must be designed and installed to current BS 7671 (18th Edition) wiring regulations. This means correctly sized cables, adequate socket and lighting provisions, appropriate circuit protection, and in many cases the addition of new circuits back to the consumer unit.
Getting the electrical installation right from the outset matters. Undersized cable causes heat and represents a fire risk. Insufficient socket outlets lead to overloaded extension leads. Poorly planned lighting makes spaces uncomfortable and less functional. First fix wiring is run before plastering and second fix fittings are installed once decoration is complete. Every installation is tested on completion and an Electrical Installation Certificate is issued. Where required, we notify the work to Building Control under Part P of the Building Regulations.
